I-69 Community Day

2 comments:
Last weekend we had a block party. On the interstate.

Okay. The new Interstate 69 isn’t open yet. But it goes right smack through Gibson County. And it’s been making a bit of a mess of traffic while it was getting built.

So the INDOT (Indiana Department of Transportation) and the Gibson County Chamber of Commerce put together an I-69 Community Day once the interstate was almost finished. How cool to be able to just hang out and wander around on an interstate?!

New roof

No comments:
No not on our house. We just did that earlier this year!

This time it’s on our garages. (Yes, I said garages, plural. No, we don’t park vehicles in both of them. That’s a long story…)

There have been some big hail storms in our area this past summer. And the roofs (rooves? roofes? more than one roof…) on our garages got damaged. So last weekend Farmer Doc called up some friends to come help replace the roof on the smaller garage.

Before they got started on the roof project, they fixed the dusk-to-dawn light. It’s been down since the major construction started last winter, and it gets dark around here at night! We’re pretty thrilled to have some light now after sunset!

Ready, set, remodel!

5 comments:
About a month ago, we started on our home renovation. This is a serious renovation. The entire house is getting taken down to the studs, walls rearranged, electricity and plumbing re-run, and an addition. We’re not kidding around. When we do things here in Southern Indiana, we do them big.

I’ve been taking tons of pictures, and am going to be sharing these during Remodel Mondays!exterior stone 5
We have been talking about this project and working on the plans for the house since May. All of a sudden, in the first week of November, everyone (except us) was ready to get started!

We had a week to get the house completely emptied.full 1 office

Open house!

1 comment:
This week is off to a hectic start, and it's only getting crazier.  My husband and father-in-law own a veterinary practice in our town (the Princeton Veterinary Hospital), and we've been working on some serious renovation on the building since last fall.  The building is more than twice the size, and now it has an upstairs.  It is gorgeous, way functional, and everyone has been really excited to be working in it, and the clients just love it!

Finally, the renovation is done!!  We're having a ribbon cutting on Friday at 11:00 am central time (sponsored by the Gibson County Chamber of Commerce).  We're also Open House for the clients and anyone else who wants to come by and see the new building!  The Open House is Saturday from 1:00-3:00 pm central time.

Tell your friends, and stop by if you're anywhere near southwest Indiana!
