Remodel Monday – Living in Chaos

Our goal was to sleep in the new house on Wednesday night, April 18. Things weren’t quite as far along as we wanted, so we waited a few days. We did sleep here Friday night, April 20!

Things are still pretty disheveled, and the construction isn’t quite finished yet. But I moved my coffee pot here from the office, which means we are officially living back at home!

One of the walls in the bedroom still needs a little repair and another coat of paint, but we’re sleeping in there!

The shower curtain rod in the master bath is missing a mounting bracket, so we’re using the other bathroom down the hall.

The blue towels don’t really go with the orange spice color, but it’s what we’ve got for now. I do love the new shower curtain! I’ll be using that as a color guide for new towels for this bathroom.

And, almost most importantly, the big sectional with two recliners (and of course the television) are back in place. We did actually get the sectional put back together. It just took a little while to make that happen…

All our furniture used to look so huge in the old house. Now the queen-sized bed looks like a twin in our giant bedroom! The sectional that used to dominate the living room barely takes up any space at all now!

There are still a bunch of things that need to be finished up. Like some more exterior lighting. And the furnace. (Did I mention that it’s been in the 30s at night and our heat hasn’t been working?) And the termite treatment. And some odds and ends around the house. But we’re getting there. There have been four different crews in and out of the house today alone!

Hopefully most of the craziness should be done today, and the cats will get to move home with us tonight.
I’m working on some great before and after pictures, and hope to start sharing them next week!

  2. Thanks! I usually stick to blues and greens (and the rest of the house shows it). The oranges have been fun to play with!
