I am always looking for good slow cooker recipes, and Gooseberry Patch always delivers! In fact, one of their new cookbooks for 2013, Slow Cooking All Year 'Round, recently made it into my kitchen. Better yet, I have one copy to give away to one lucky reader!
I love that this cookbook is broken down by seasons. There are the hearty stews you think of for winter time, like the Hearty Meatball Stew.
Or the Sweet-and-Sour Beef.
The Winter section has a recipe for Hot Lemonade. I so very wish that I had this recipe about a month ago when I was losing my voice. I would have gone through two batches of this on my own…
I love my slow cooker in the autumn and winter, but don’t use it much in the spring and summer. This cookbook certainly has the remedy for that – there’s a whole section dedicated to Spring and one for Summer!
The Summer section has lighter recipes like Summer Vegetable Fettuccini, Stuffed Green Peppers, Last-Resort Chicken Legs, and plenty of ways to fix baked beans (a summer barbecue staple around here). The Spring section has recipes for things like Tea-Room Broccoli-Cheese Soup.
And Top o’ the Morning Irish Oats.
But the Autumn section is where I really get excited. There is a huge selection of dips like Buffalo Chicken Dip, Pleasing Pizza Dip, Spinach-Artichoke Dip, and Cheesy Sausage Dip. Seriously. I’m going to have to have a party every weekend just so I can make all these dips! Where can you go wrong with recipes like Rockin’ Ribs and Bacon-Wrapped Chicken? And Pumpkin and Black Bean Chili? I think I’m in heaven!
And if all that wasn’t good enough… I’m going to give one of these babies away! Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter. (Click on “A Rafflecopter Giveaway” if you can’t see the widget.) The giveaway runs until midnight on Wednesday, January 16. I'll announce the winner here and by email on Thursday morning, so be sure to keep an eye out!
