Porch furniture

No comments:
All this travel has finally caught up to me. I’ve been sick. Coughing until I can’t breathe sick. So I took last week off, more or less. Anyway, I didn’t write anything for any of my blogs. It was a barren week.

Finally, I’m starting to feel more like a person! Well, at least when I can see through the haze of non-drowsy decongestants and NyQuil. So, only sometimes.

Here’s one thing that we did manage to get accomplished between trips to Indianapolis and Washington, DC this summer – new furniture for our porch!

My dog has too much fur

Sadie is part Husky. She is incredibly fuzzy.

We had a small porch on our old house, and Sadie never came up the steps. I’m not sure she knew how. And she has bad hips (she’s around 12 years old), so it was hard for her to climb steps. Now she’s on arthritis medication every day (and feeling great!). And Buddy came over not too long ago. He taught her how to climb steps.

Remodel Mondays – Outside ambiance

1 comment:

So I’m not quite ready to post before and after photos, but I will, I promise. We’ve had a few people over to see the new house, and they don’t recognize it at all!

Moving in has been a bit crazy… There are still a few odds and ends of things that need to get finished, and we’re living in the middle of it.

One of the things I really didn’t like about the old house is that there was no good outdoor space to hang out. We live on the top of a hill, and we have great views, but we had nowhere to sit and enjoy them. One of the major changes with this remodel were two giant porches.

Our front porch used to just be a concrete stoop. Now it’s a bit more elaborate.

Remodel Monday – Porches galore

No comments:
One thing I have been wanting on this house since the beginning is a great front porch. We’re building that, and then some!

remodelmonbadgeFirst, the front porch. This has been the easy part. You can see where the roof is notched out where the porch is going to sit. You can also see that you need to walk the plank just to get into the house.
