Remodel Monday – No stone, just siding

We took all the Bedford stone off our house, with the plan to replace it with vinyl siding. That is finally getting done!

It’s not quite finished yet, but it’s getting close. We went with “slate” for the roof color and “Victorian gray” for the siding.

Have I mentioned that the porches are going on at the same time? They are treated lumber porches, with columns wrapped in cedar.

Here’s the new addition. (My office will be in this front corner.)

And the back side, looking up at the master bedroom from the walk-out basement.

The eat-in kitchen area, with the mudroom jutting off to the right side…

The entrance to the mudroom, with part of the back porch finished.

And the view of the side/back of the house – our beautiful back porch!

On the inside? The drywall is taped and mudded, and is being sanded as I speak. We’ll be painting later this week!

  5. Yes, we’re getting tired of our temporary apartment... it will be good to get back into the house on the farm!

  6. We will definitely be having a housewarming party... sometime... And I am very much looking forward to sitting on that porch and drinking my morning coffee!

  7. Wow, your house was made even more presentable when you used vinyl sidings. They match your green roof perfectly. Has anyone bought the Bedford stones that you used?

  8. Actually, it’s kind of hard to tell in some of the photos, but the roof is gray with lighter gray siding. It still matches, just a little differently. :) Nope, no takers on the Bedford stone yet, although we haven’t been trying too hard yet. Let me know if you have any leads!
